Yard Waste Recycling In Central Ohio

It’s Not Just Our Plants That Are Green

Kurtz Bros. has worked for more than 30 years with industry leaders to develop processes and procedures that take various waste materials and provide a beneficial reuse, or ‘green’ alternative, to landfilling. Our approach has been to innovate and develop technologies that give us the ability to accept these materials in a coordinated way, ensuring we meet all regulatory requirements. Our consulting services include support to the generators and haulers to help manage the waste with logistics and transportation.

Each Kurtz Bros. Central Ohio store provides a place for homeowners and landscapers to drop off their yard trimmings. The yard waste is recycled and used in our premium bulk mulches, soils and composts.

We invite all Franklin County residents to drop off their yard trimmings at no charge. There is a $15/ton charge for sod/edgings at most locations.  We recommend cutting down oversized logs and branches that are longer than 8 ft. and wider than 20 inches.  Oversized materials can only be dropped off at the 711 Frank Rd location at a cost of $45/ton . Yard waste does not need to be bundled but can be in paper yard waste bags.

PLEASE NOTE, EFFECTIVE MARCH 15, 2023 THE ALEXANDRIA LOCATION WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT YARD WASTE.

We Do Not Accept Plastics

Yard waste loads must be free of contamination such as plastic and metal.  Sod must be kept separate from other yard waste.  KB reserves the right to refuse any load that is contaminated or comingled with sod.

Professional landscapers may be required to pay a small fee to drop off yard waste.  Non sod and non oversized logs are free to dispose at the Westerville, Dublin, Delaware and Frank Rd locations.  Sod is $15/ton at Dublin, Westerville and Frank Rd. Sod is accepted at no charge at the Alexandria and Delaware locations only.  Oversize logs (over 8′ in length or 20″ in diameter) are $45/ton and accepted at the Frank Rd location ONLY.  We ask all customers to separate yard waste from sod and woodchips from logs.  Sunbury (1st Impressions) charges $15/load to drop off yard waste to all customers.

We request that all customers weigh in on our scale before they drop off any yard trimmings, and weigh back out after they have finished. Any customer who is required to pay will need to visit the office inside or via the drive-through.
